A Big Change for joyologie

Filed In: Joyologie

For many years, joyologie has had the great fortune and honor of helping super cute couples plan and design their weddings.  This past year was one of the most personally difficult for me with my father being so sick and having an incredibly adorable baby girl.  While I’m happy to say that my father is better than new and Riley continues to amaze us every day, it’s also put into perspective what’s really important to me and how I want to spend my time.

You may have noticed that we’ve been rather radio silent in the past couple of months and that’s because we’ve been trying to really focus on the future of joyologie.  The end result is that joyologie will no longer be a part of couples’ weddings.  Despite stepping away from event planning and design, we’re not leaving the wedding industry that fast.  A new venture is already in the works, so we’re simply shifting our focus.  We hope to be able to reveal what we’re working on in the coming weeks.

With all of the many very talented event planners and designers, we are happy to refer any inquiries we receive, which we’ve already done.  So, we’ll be back soon!  That’s for sure!  Onwards and upwards.  Bigger and better.

Memorial Day Weekend Cocktail: Strawberry Mojito

Filed In: Uncategorized

I love Mojitos.  There’s just something so perfect about a Mojito on a gorgeous Spring or Summer day.  With Memorial Day coming up and the sun shining I thought I’d share a recipe (courtesy of the Food Network) for a Strawberry Mojito — make use of the strawberries that are flooding the grocery stores.

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • 5-6 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 2 Strawberries, cut into quarters + extra for sliced for garnish
  • 2 ounces Citrus Rum
  • 1 ounce Simple Syrup (I use Splenda or Truvia instead)
  • 1 ounce Lime Juice
  • Club Soda (optional)

Directions:

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add the mind and strawberries and muddle all together.  Pour in the Rum, Simple Syrup (or Splenda), and Lime Juice.  Shake, pour into a glass and garnish.  If you want, top it off with a little Club Soda.

YUM!  I can taste it now.

What’s your favorite type of mojito?

I was going through some of the images from Spring 2012 Bridal Market, when I found myself spending loads of time on the gowns from Oscar de la Renta.  Just love them!  I can see this ODLR wedding dress blowing the in wind for a Caribbean beach ceremony.  Perfect for a fun destination wedding dress.

joyologie Expands into Miami + A New Addition

Miami

Big news over here at joyologie and I’m so excited to share it all with you, as it’s been something I’ve thought about for years!  After spending a great deal of time in Miami for professional and personal reasons, joyologie is announcing the opening of its Miami office.  The Miami location is a natural fit for the team, given the vibrance and richness in culture and international flavor the city has.  Our new office will also serve as the base for all of our Caribbean destination weddings and events, making it much easier to build on the relationships we’ve already made with venues and vendors across the area.

With a new office, you also need new team members to help make it a success, and so we would also like to announce the appointment of Marli McCleary as the Director of Events, Miami.  Marli comes to joyologie with a wealth of experience in producing high profile events, including fashion week for IMG in New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

Get to know both Marli and the joyologie Miami office by following us on Twitter or @joyologieMiami.  You can also reach Marli at marli [at] joyologie [dot] com
